     pH Measurements

Measurements of pH in colloidal suspensions are as important as they are in solutions as pH is a master variable for most of our aqueous systems. The proton determines the potential of the surface, the stability of our colloidal suspensions and the ability of other ions to absorb either specifically or non-specifically. It is important to use an electrode with a high junction potential to measure pH under these conditions.
